This most likely doesn't happen anymore with trunk. "Open layouts
folder" has changed a bit to use xdg-open, see bug #1322368. FWIW, I
don't get any errors here.

If you would like to test, get the latest version from our snapshot PPA at 
https://launchpad.net/~onboard/+archive/snapshots

There's no package for Vivid yet, though. Francesco, would you mind to
add one?

  2. open "On Screening Keyboard"
  3. Click Onborad Icon in panel->Preferences->Layout->Open layouts folder

  spelling and try again."
