The 'lower brightness' button on my netbook / laptop does not change gnome-power-manager setting. Status in gnome-power-manager package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager After install Ubuntu and boot into Ubuntu, the brightness of my laptop monitor is 100%. I press the 'lower brightness' button on my Netbook to reduce the brightness. But, after reboot, it will be back to 100%. The temporary workaround on this issue is to set the brightness by using gnome-power-manager. Even I lower my brightness by pressing the button on my netbook, the brightness does reduce but when I run gnome- power-manager, the brightness setting in gnome-power-manager is 100%. I then reduce set the brightness setting in gnome-power manager to lower value. After I reboot, my netbook brightness did follow the gnome-power-manager. Please fix this bug. When I press the 'lower brightness' button on my Netbook / Laptop, the gnome-power-manager's configuration should be automatically updated, so that Ubuntu will boot with new brightness setting.
