Public bug reported:

lightdm faills to start on several lenovo thinkpads (X240, X201...)
after the latest round of 15.04 beta updates on 20/03/15. The system
boots into low graphics mode, but the only working option from this is
the console login.

If started using upstart from the "advanced" boot options, lightdm
starts as normal on all the affected laptops. All had been working with
systemd before yesterday's updates.

** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
