Just installed "Fedora 21" - installation is a bit ruggish. But language
support is 100% working :o)

I have danish keymapping on console and can switch between Danish /
English in the "Region & Language" settings menu without problems.

I believe that Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 installation have not been properly
configured to support foreign languages (with exception of the few major
languages).

Ubuntu Gnome in need of proper language support in both Console and GUI
- may choose to switch to Fedora 21 for now - until Ubuntu Gnome project
fixes language problems.

Bug description:
  Ubuntu-Gnome testing i.e. 14.10 + latest updates installed.
I have installed all language-pack-ru packages, but cannot see them under
Settings > Region and Language and so then cannot select and use Russian
language. (see screenshot attached)

So, out of the box there is no possibility to change/add language
