Title:
empathy automatically renames contacts to vcard nick

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: empathy

Currently empathy automatically renames all contacts according to their vCard
NICKNAME field on every start of the program.
Afterwards it also updates the rosterusers nick on the server.
This is extremely annoying if you manually renamed all contacts and just once
starting empathy immediately causes a lot of work.

Fetching the nickname is something that should only be done on the
first start of the application. And even then the rosteruser entry
should only be changed if no nickname is set manually yet.

  Additional, not really necessary, information
  Ubuntu: 11.04
  empathy: 2.34.0-0ubuntu3
