Title:
Connection to IMAP timed out, Thunderbird 31.6.0, Ubuntu 14.04.2

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:

Ran Ubuntu Software Updater on 14.04.2 on April 15 for both a Thinkpad
X200 and a Thinkpad X230T. Started Thunderbird. Expected IMAP
  accounts to update.

  Actual results:

On two different laptops with the same configuration, IMAP connections
  refused and timed out.

e.g. "Could not connect to mail server myn...@gmail.com. The
  connection was refused".

e.g. "Connection to server myn...@coevolving.com IMAP timed out"
(This is on a cPanel mail account).

All of the e-mail from April 14 offline is visible. There is no
incoming e-mail for April 15 (although it shows up fine on my Nexus 5
  phone).

  Expected results:

Thunderbird should receive today's IMAP messages.

  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1154793 .
