Title:
resolution change and edidfail after resizing partition

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
What happened just before problem occurred:
  - I booted into the live CD to resize my usr partition (was getting full)
  - I resized the partition without incident, and the disk checked out with 0
errors

  Symptoms:
  - I booted into my ubuntu 10.04 install and noticed that the resolution was
messed up (wasn't 1440x900, and the proper resolution wasn't an option in the
nvidia settings manager), I tried all available kernels.
  - EDID is not working (getting edidfail with ddcprobe)

  History:
  - This has happened before, but I was able to resolve the issue by unplugging
and replugging my monitor. This solution is not working this time around.

  Additional Information:
  - As I am able to properly detect EDID data in Win XP, I can only assume this
is a software issue
  - I have attached xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log, the output from ddcprobe, as well as
get-edid | parse-edid
