I have this bug on an Acer Aspire 5542 laptop. Can be avoided, but I
think it's pretty nasty as it lockup up the PC....consider raising the
priority.

Title:
Clicking on touchpad lock/unlock button locks up keyboard

Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-session

  HP Pavilion dv7 laptop.

Enabling touchpad lock button locks up the keyboard after it. None of the
keys except CTRL+ALT+DEL work.
Unlocking the touchpad enables the mouse but keyboard is still locked up.
Furthermore gnome-panel doesnot respond to mouse clicks.

After this only option is to reboot by going ctrl+alt+del way
