This freeze appears, when you boot ubuntu and do an action in gnome (like right- click with the mouse, click in the gnome menu or so on). When libesd (not the -alsa0) from the multiverse is installed, the system sounds works and no freeze appears. But then multimedia programs like totem, me-tv... find no audio driver. This bug was tested with several kernels and several sound configurations (alsa as default, pulseaudio as default ...)
