Title:
Thunderbird Gnome Notification Deactivation Ignored, Wily 15.10

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am trying to disable Thunderbird notifications in Gnome Shell
  without success.

  Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf
  Gnome Shell 3.16
  Thunderbird 38.3.0

I have disabled Thunderbird notifications in the gnome Shell notifications
settings (see attached screenshot).
I have disabled Thunderbird notifications directly in Thunderbird (see
attached screenshot).
I am still seeing notification banners popping up.
With notifications enabled, I do not get duplicates.
Changing notification settings seems to have no effect

Sorry if this is not a Thunderbird issue. I was not able to figure out
which package is being used for displaying notifications in Gnome
Shell and I was not able to find a log of Gnome Shell notifications
  for further inspection.
