Title: Software-center crashed as root while trying to connect? Status in software-center package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, Trying to find a workaround for the following bug, I've tried to launch xdg-open in root mode: https://bugs.launchpad.net/software-center/+bug/1315541 Here is what I typed: gksudo xdg-open apt:adobe-flashplugin?channel =$distro-partner It successfully ask my root password, but failed to open the software- center window. Note that without the “gksudo”, software-center launches itself and only failed when trying to effectively install the package because of lack of privileges. Here is the output of the command line: Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 14: Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 14: bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-co3FtlfVUb: Konekto rifuziĝas Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-sil-andika.conf", line 32: Having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported and may not work as expected (software-center:15406): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:70:18: Not using units is deprecated. Martin, still wondering why software-center was chosed to be the default installing interface when it clearly can't handle its job correctly… To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1315547/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
