Public bug reported: Hello I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 on an AMD 3870 and a 5450. The APU is running a DVI connection to a (Right Monitor) NEC 19" 1280 x 1024. The centre monitor is an Acer 22" Wide screen running at 1680x1050. The Left monitor is an LG (GoldStar) 20" 1680x1050.
This problem occurs when the system first boots up. The right monitor is the problem child here. Almost every start-up, but not always, at the log in screen the monitor sticks with the log in original screen back ground however the mouse is not able to go onto that screen. When I hover the mouse over a different user account, and the background changes, the other monitor does not. When I log in I go into the settings and go to Screen display. I turn off the general options for the right monitor and apply the changes. When the pop up asking if I want to keep my changes, I select no go back to what it was. The right monitor returns to life. Thanks for your help in advance as I am very happy I am able to run 3 monitor as with the proprietary drivers, I can not.
