Everything was configured and running smoothly while the Nouveau display driver (xserver-xorg-video-nouveau) was being used, but after installing the nvidia-346 package (as explained in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia) the Shut down, Restart and Logout buttons in kde stopped working. Also in kde, I'm unable to change the driver in the "Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers" or change the GPU in "NVIDIA X Server Settings -> Prime Profiles".
