I encounter the same error when formatting a drive and adding a
partition, using the default options.   Occasionally the program will
simply crash without displaying an error message.

Bug description:
  I'm trying to encrypt a USB memory with gnome-disks, but it fails when
  trying to add a partition:

      Error creating partition

      Error wiping newly created partition /dev/sdf1: Command-line `wipefs -a
      "/dev/sdf1"' exited with non-zero exit status 1: wipefs: error:
      /dev/sdf1: probing initialization failed: No such file or directory
      (udisks-error-quark, 0)

  Steps to reproduce:

  1) Open gnome-disks with the USB drive attached
  2) Format the drive (MRB or GPT, doesn't matter)
  3) Click the "+" to open Create Partition dialog
  4) Select Ext4 (or LUKS + Ext4) + fill in the details
  5) Click "Create"
