Title:
Ubuntu keeps trying to connect to a WiFi network while plugged into an
  ethernet

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
My network cable is plugged in but NM shows it is trying to connect to WiFi.
This happened on Ubuntu 15.04 and continues after upgrade to 15.10.
I have a RTL8723be card and it is hardly working correctly, but that is a
whole other issue.

  1) Ubuntu 15.10, 64bit

  2) network-manager:
    Installed: 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1
    Candidate: 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1
    Version table:
   *** 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1 0
          500 http://mirrors.neterra.net/ubuntu/ wily-updates/main amd64
Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
       1.0.4-0ubuntu5 0
          500 http://mirrors.neterra.net/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages

3, 4) Expected is that when network cable is plugged in and obviously
I have a stable, well running connection, NM should not try to also
connect via WiFi. Also expected that when I pull out the cable, the
WiFi would connect. Instead the wifi shows connected but there is no
  internet activity.
