Any updates regarding this? It may be best to add nvidia-367 from
https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa to the
Xenial restricted repository at this point.

Title:
Please replace this package with nvidia-364

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-361 package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The Nvidia 361 drivers are known for performance regressions and
issues with a handful of games. By replacing this package with version
364, the user gets a better performing driver that not only removes
the issues with the 361 series, but also supports the Vulkan API that
will be used in future games.

Since Xenial is an LTS release and about a month away, it may be wise
to do the testing now for 364 so users can have a Vulkan ready driver
in April. Since the LTS releases are supported for 5 years, you don't
want to hold back Vulkan adoption by shipping an older and less
  desirable package.

Source code is available at https://launchpad.net/~graphics-
  drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
