On Ubuntu 16.04 there was no import button by default. I had manually to install:
- network-manager-openvpn - network-manager-openvpn-gnome After that there was an "import OpenVPN profile" button on the "new VPN" dialog ** Attachment added: "Bildschirmfoto vom 2016-09-12 17-41-25.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1212360/+attachment/4739364/+files/Bildschirmfoto%20vom%202016-09-12%2017-41-25.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212360 Title: Cannot import OpenVPN profiles Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 12.10 / Intel / ASUS Zenbook Package: network-manager 1. receive an OpenVPN profile (ovpn and crt files) by email or download. 2. open Network Manager 3. look in vain for an "import" button or link. What should have happened instead: 3. there should be an "import OpenVPN profile" button on the "new VPN" dialog Prior to Unity, the gnome network manager had an "import VPN" button which allowed importing configuration files for OpenVPN and Cisco. The new Unity network manager has removed that button and not replaced it with anything. The only workaround is to install the old Gnome network manager, launch it from the command line, and use it to import the VPN profile.
