** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1650730 streaming, H.264 doesn't work in Chromium codecs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650997 Title: h.264 video does not work though ffmpeg-extra is installed Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have the chromium-browser/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra packages installed on Yakkety. As of the recent upgrade to Chromium version 55 which fixed HTTPS issues, H.264 video is no longer working. Indeed https://www.youtube.com/html5 reports that it is not supported. I've tried installing the x264 and ubuntu-restricted-extras packages, but that did not solve the issue.
