This is not possible to me. I need C.UTF-8 or en_US.UTF-8 locale, but want Spanish dictionaries by default.
If you wonder why we have many scripts that depend on English (or C) locale but they don't use dictionaries so it's not a problem if I set them to Spanish (which is what I would wish I could). One option is setting all locales each time I run one of those internal scripts, but I don't want to risk forgetting, for the time being. That is what happens with wspanish, for instance. However, if I do $ dpkg-reconfigure hunspell-es I don't get asked the default hunspell language and have no clue about how to set it.
