After reboot and login, the network manager applet will sometimes show
the ethernet connection icon when I'm actually connected to wifi (and I
even have the ethernet port disabled in bios). Other times it will
indicate that I'm not connected at all, and won't display any available
wifi networks, when in fact I am connected. Restarting network manager
corrects this.
