Hi, I'm the author of the patch above, just to note that while in Yakkety the package seems to contain the same bug (at least according to the diff from 1.4.12-1ubuntu2 (in Ubuntu) to 1.6.0-1), the fix is included in ModemManager 1.6.4 which has been released in Zesty
