sound choppy after wakeup from standby/sleep

when my PC goes into sleep acpi s3/s5 and i wake it up - the sound is
choppy and terrible.
not always reproducible.
there is sometimes different behaviour when the computer went to "sleep" with
sound playing or without playing sound...
