Please clarify your comment, does the switch succeed with a restart 
(this bug) or if not then that is a new misbehavior & should get a 
separate report.

  Test case:
  Install nvidia drivers ,restart.
  Open nvidia-settings, switch prime profile.
  Will be prompted to log out/in, do so

  What happens: user goes into a log in loop
  To actually get back to the ubuntu-session one must restart.
