Public bug reported: I observed that gnome-shell crashes when I tried to load the Software Sources application. After a bit of trial and error it turned out that the crash only occurs if searching files is enabled in Settings. I can reliably trigger the crash by typing "so" into the search box.
Sometimes only the search window crashes, leaving all windows open. Other times Gnome crashes, returning me to the login screen after around 20 seconds. When the files search is off, no crash is observed. Attached is a syslog excerpt for the crash. It has two searches - I searched for "s", and then I searched for "so", both with Files search on. The crash occurs after the second search.
