Status in gnome-control-center: Fix Released Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gnome-control-center source package in Artful: Fix Committed Status in gnome-settings-daemon source package in Artful: Fix Committed Bug description: Impact ====== In Settings--privacy, there is a entry named "Empty trash and temporary files". but it doesn't work. when I clicked the red button EMPTY TRASH, the Trash still filled with something. Test Case ========= Note that this is a two-part fix. You will need the 3.26.2 versions of both gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-control-center. 1. Create a sample document with Text Editor and save it to your home folder. 2. Open the Files app. Select the sample file and press Delete to send it to the Trash. 3. In the Files sidebar, click Trash to verify that the file is there. 4. Open the Settings app. 5. Open the Privacy panel. Click "Purge Trash & Temporary Files". Click "Empty Trash" then confirm "Empty Trash". 6. The Trash folder in the Files app should be empty now. Regression Potential ==================== This fix is part of the GNOME 3.26.2 bug fix release. The D-Bus method to empty the trash shouldn't be used by anything besides gnome-control-center. If another app does use that, it will need to be updated for the new D-Bus address. There is a micro-release exception for GNOME: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#GNOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1721927/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
