Firefox quantum not showing donwload progress bar

Bug description:
using ubuntu 18.04 daily build (ubuntu-session gnome) , but the same
problem happens when using firefox (57.0.1) quantum under ubuntu 17.10
. When downloading any file , the progress bar (on the dock) over the
firefox icon is not showing anymore (an example screenshot has been
attached). On the other hand, nautilus file manager still has it's
progress bar when copying / pasting files.
