Public bug reported: I am trying to use the HP EliteDisplay S140u USB Display on my Lenovo T430s, therefore I have installed DisplayLink softwares. However, there are some issues occuring now.
First of all, the cursor is flickering on the Built-In laptop screen, when the other screen is connected. The flickering mainly occurs, when the cursor is hovering over the program header or the upper ubuntu status bar (black bar on top). Second, the CPU rises to 100% quite quickly and the Computer crashes completely. It's enough to open a browser, then a file explorer, and trying to open a pdf from the file explorer. This only happens when the display is connected. Third, to activate the usb screen, I have to plug it in, then go to settings, activate the screen, unplug and plug it in again. I have seen this bug has been reported many times, I myself have easily found 3 reports from several versions of Ubuntu, I would highly appreciate if this could finally be fixed.
