I confirm I have this exact problem. Using latest build of Ubuntu 17.10
(Wayland)from Jan 2018.

  drag and drop between desktop and nautilus doesn't work

Bug description:
  I open a nautilus window and try to drag a file from the desktop to this 
window. It's not done and the arrow pointer of the mouse become a close hand 
and you cannot use it anymore to click anywhere.
