I am finding that Calc opens but the file is not loaded. There are other strange effects that happen when subsequently trying to open that file from the recently opened files menu such as the calc window freezing or not being able to be closed. The "X" on the calc window is unresponsive. Please advise what further information you need from me relating to this bug. But if I omit step 2 the file opens in the existing Calc window as it should when using the Recent Documents list Further information to follow as I find it. So probably not related to KDE as I first thought. I've experienced this with LO 3.42 and now LO 3.43 which was released today. Using KDE 4.71, fully updated. Various web searches have found a forum post that suggested deleting the .libreoffice directory. That didn't solve the problem here. By the way, opening .odt files this way opens Writer and the .odt file correctly.
