Confirmed - after I uninstall VLC via (Gnome) software, usr/bin still contains files called "vlc" & "vlc-wrapper".

This is because VLC has them in a separate vlc-bin package and GNOME Software does not support uninstalling dependencies. Please, try to workaround this somehow.
