Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce on my Thinkpad X270

1. Start with laptop docked with internal and external screen in use
2. Lock machine (and potentially wait for blank screen to kick in - need to
test)
3. Undock
4. Hit a key to wake screen up
5. Notice that the lock screen doesn't scroll up immediately
6. Wait for a couple of minutes until lock screen clears and you can type your
password again
7. Notice that even though you can now use the desktop, you can switch to
tty3, 4, etc

** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
