Title:
NetworkManager does not allow adding an IPv4 network without a gateway

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I want to add the 10.0.1.0/255.255.255.0 network to one of my
interfaces, but I don't want to add a gateway on this network.
NetworkManager does not enable the save button unless there is a
  gateway present.
