Thanks for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2009 regarding Thunderbird and there have
been several versions of Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close
the ticket? Or, if it is still a problem, could you come to Launchpad
and make a comment to that effect?

  Precondition: thunderbird is open

  1. Click "Write" icon on toolbar to open new message.
  2. In new message window, click "Attach" icon in toolbar to attach a file.
  3. In Attach File(s) file selection dialog, under Location, type ".." (two 
periods, no quotes).
  4. Thunderbird immediately disappears. If was launched from command line, the 
following is printed out:
