Hello Gpk, Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then. Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket? Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once): apport-collect 567943 and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better. No message is visible to dmesg, so it's probably not the OOM killer. Before the crash, the system is thrashing with thunderbird-bin occupyng 1.8G of memory. seems associated with change in sort context -- speciically: default sort by date - highlight partiular e-mail -- open e-mail change to sort by From -- highlight another e-mail by same author -- open it change to sort by Subject -- hangs and then eventually crashes ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: thunderbird 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-21.32-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Apr 21 11:33:49 2010 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4/thunderbird-bin InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Beta i386 (20100406.1) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: thunderbird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/567943/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
