Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 547265
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Dort heißt es:
On Linux, start Thunderbird with the -profilemanager switch, e.g.
./thunderbird -ProfileManager (this assumes that you're in the Thunderbird
directory).
Ich wechsele in dem Terminal aus dem user-Vereichnis in das versteckte
Thunderbird directory .mozilla-thunderbird.
Mit ls lasse ich mir das Profile xxxxxxxx.default und die aktuelle
profiles.ini anzeigen.
Aber der Aufruf "./thunderbird -ProfileManager" wird nur beantwortet:
"no such file or directory".
Iich gehe davon aus, daß "./thunderbird" nur die - falsch geschriebene -
Ortsangabe des Termiinals ist.
Wenn ich nur noch "-ProfileManager" eingebe, liefert das Terminal eine
qualitativ andere Rückmeldung: "command not found". das heißt, der
Profilmanager von Thunderbird wird in Ubuntu nicht unterstützt. Das Terminal
erkennt einen unbekannten Befehlsaufruf.
