To reproduce: 1. Open evince 2. Go to File/Open and load a pdf file. Opens instantly. Leave it open. 3. Go again to File/Open and try to open the same pdf file. Evince freezes for a long time (30 seconds or so); eventually it reacts again, simply closing the File/Open dialog. What I expect: that it doesn't freeze.
