Either reopen #1164016 or keep this one open (since in 1164016 you asked
me to open a new one instead).

Given that 1164016 was considered valid, and fixed, the arguments given
in comment 2 are bullshit.

This just needs to be patched again as it was before.

And fucking quickly.

This infamous regression is making Ubuntu completely unusable (again).
I, like probably million other users, am refraining from upgrading just
because of this. And those who didn't know and did upgrade are
regretting it, as many comments in #1164016 demonstrate.

** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
       Status: Invalid => Confirmed

Title:
  bug 1164016 has regressed

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I'm opening this because I can't change back the status of issue
1164016 back from "fix released" (which is so stupid by the way: IF I
can change the status from any other status, why shouldn't I be able
to change it from "fix released"? Nonsense)

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1164016

Many users have reported the bug is back on 17.10.
I can't think of any reason why it should take more than a few minutes to fix
it back for 17.10, other than maybe nobody among the people who were
responsible for the fix have noticed yet.

Feel free to mark this as duplicate *after* you reopen #1164016
