Title:
  DNS setting from Settings/Network GUI does not take effect

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 18.04LTS
  ThinkPad T480s
  ThinkPad Dock

  I'm connected to office network via ethernet cable.

  The Settings->Network->PCI Ethernet or USB Ethernet shows that the DNS should
be
  192.168.101.201
  This is the correct IP for the Windows Server 2003 nameserver in the office
network.
  See screenshot.

  However, it seems that this nameserver is not used.

  Related information:

  /etc/nsswitch.conf
  ...
  hosts: files dns mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] myhostname
  ...

  /etc/resolv.conf only has one nameserver. (If I manually add 192.168.101.201,
it works.)
  nameserver 127.0.0.53

  $ nslookup -v etb-git.mcint.local
  Server:               127.0.0.53
  Address:      127.0.0.53#53

  ** server can't find etb-git.mcint.local: SERVFAIL

  $ host -v etb-git.mcint.local
  Trying "etb-git.mcint.local"
  Host etb-git.mcint.local not found: 2(SERVFAIL)
  Received 37 bytes from 127.0.0.53#53 in 0 ms
