Title:
  Add genre filter pane

Status in Banshee Music Player:
  Fix Released
Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: banshee

  Using:
  Banshe 1.6 Beta 2 (1.5.1)
  Ubuntu 9.10

This is definately a feature request: a genre filter pane.
The preferences window should allow the user to select the panes he wants to
be visible. The options would be: Artist, Album, and Genre. Yes, I know we can
use the genre: tag in the search field, but this option is in other players
(Rhythmbox, iTunes and Songbird come to mind) and is very useful for creating
"on-the-fly" playlist (when a user wants to hear to all the songs in a
particular genre). Also, artist and album are not enough when the music library
goes beyond a few hundreds of songs, and I'm pretty sure that several users
fall in this category.

This bug has already been treated there, and even a patch has been developed,
then there is no reason why this is not implemented already.

Included is a (not so good) mockup of what I'm talking about.
