Could you remove all the gnome extensions you've got installed and try
again? I understand those are pretty brittle.

  I pressed a button on my Wacom tablet at the Gnome shell lock screen.
  Once it crashed I was able to see the apps/desktop for a while until
  the lock screen appeared again.
