you that's not an Ubuntu problem, the depends is there for a reason, of course if you rebuild it to remove it then you create the problem, but it comes from your version not the archive one. Ubuntu is not writting this code, if you feel like upstream shouldn't request colord you should report it to them on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control- center/issues
