As requested, just ran 'apport-collect 1792702' on my system - sorry, didn't notice the comment about creating an own bug. This is a fresh install of 18.04.01, with all (two) gnome-shell extensions disabled. The syslog rolled at 585M yesterday and is now at 33G - all that growth happening overnight, without any active work being done on the computer.
