Public bug reported: Some drivers like http://www.eeti.com.tw/drivers_Linux.html do a X -version to determine the X version. Unluckily this is not allowed by the Xorg-wrapper ("only allowed by console users") May I ask that if the only parameter is "-version", either the /usr/bin/Xorg script doesn't use the wrapper, or the wrapper allows the usage?
After "hackfixing" this this driver (and aspecially the calibration tool) is working very well. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805733 Title: Even xorg -version is not allowed by non console users (caused by the wrapper) Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Some drivers like http://www.eeti.com.tw/drivers_Linux.html do a X -version to determine the X version.
