@Daniel , It happened in Cinnamon as well. I had some important work so I was using Windows 10 ( dual boot ) all these days. The issue is limited to 18.04. I wanted to update this thread and started using Cinnamon today. The keyboard just froze for about 1 minute and then everything got ok by itself.
