I think it's nice this bug (which is 7 1/2 years old) is having the many duplicate reports of it's existence consolidated, and also "re-opened". Housekeeping of 8 year old bugs is important for posterity, not to mention future historians, who may look back to draw conclusions.
My simple mind doesn't understand why this can't be fixed, but then again, Firefox developers have never bothered to explain that. I know, I know.
