See the attached screenshot when searching for 'telegram desktop'. (Note that I have the flatpak plugin installed and added the Flathub repository.) Only the flatpak shows its source, the deb and snap do not. So it seems that gnome-software 3.28 core already supports showing the source field in the overview (see the upstream bug and the attached screenshot), and it's up to the deb and snap plugins to expose it, like the rpm and flatpak plugins do.
