Thanks for the suggestion.

The chromium-browser package is becoming a transitional package, for all
intents and purposes, so it's meant to be eventually removed. Adding
more new transitional packages that just switch the snap store channel
in use doesn't seem very useful, and goes against the goal of reducing
the maintenance effort.

I'm closing this bug now, but I'm happy to hear and consider new
arguments in favour, so feel free to re-open.

  While the chromium-browser package should install the stable channel,
  it might be worth considering creating chromium-browser-beta and
  chromium-browser-edge etc. for the different channels.
