Thanks for the suggestion. The chromium-browser package is becoming a transitional package, for all intents and purposes, so it's meant to be eventually removed. Adding more new transitional packages that just switch the snap store channel in use doesn't seem very useful, and goes against the goal of reducing the maintenance effort.
I'm closing this bug now, but I'm happy to hear and consider new arguments in favour, so feel free to re-open. ** Changed in: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838823 Title: [snap] Allow different channels with different binary packages Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: While the chromium-browser package should install the stable channel, it might be worth considering creating chromium-browser-beta and chromium-browser-edge etc. for the different channels.
