Yea this is still happening, I have 18.04.2 LTS. Actually there's another design problem with this- the little window isn't wide enough; it has to "..." and so I can't see the transfer rate. There's no way to adjust the size of the little mini window unlike an actual window.
Well another design flaw is that when copying a file there's no indicator that it's doing this abnormal thing of doing a little tiny icon in the upper right. Pretty much any user ever expects a seperate window to popup. This little pie chart thing is pretty much unique to nautilus right? We're supposed to guess that? The whole design need an overhaul. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726516 Title: no progress bar while copying files Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: while copying files, it does not show progress or any copy dialogue at all. also there is no option to create new file while right clicking ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: nautilus 1:3.26.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-16.19-generic 4.13.4 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-16-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Oct 23 23:08:22 2017 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-10-23 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Release amd64 (20171018) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_IN:en PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_IN SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1726516/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
