This is a bug tracker, not a forum for discussions. If you have
compelling arguments against chromium being a snap (other than "I don't
like it"), feel free to expose them on https://forum.snapcraft.io/. Bug
reports for specific issues (actual issues like functional regressions,
not opinions) are very welcome, though.

Title:
Chromium is now a snap package

Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Starting with Ubuntu Eoan, chromium-browser is shipped as snap
package, instead of a regular .deb package.

This is wasteful, since all dependencies have to duplicated.
It also breaks apt, which no longer controls all the software on my system.
I now have to deal with two tools to keep everything up-to-date.

Please restrict snap packages to big, complimentary packages, which
  chromium definitely isn't.
