Workaround:

Alt-F6 to switch to a text terminal
   login there
   sudo pkill -9 gnome-screensav
F7 to switch back to GUI

The screen is unlocked.

Note, even

   pkill -9 gnome-screensav

should be enough I think (wihtou sudo), because I saw gnome-screensav is
run from the same non-root user. Maybe even

   pkill gnome-screensav

But I the tested variant is `sudo pkill -9 gnome-screensav`, I haven't
tried the simplified variant.

Title:
Impossible to unlock because keyboard language doesn't switch

Status in gnome-screensaver package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
My password has latin characters. When my keyboard is switched to
russian, after screen is locked, it is impossible to unlock.

The screensaver lock screen has a language indicator and allows to
switch the indicator. But it's still impossible to unlock. I believe
the real keyboard layout doesn't switch, only the indicator switches
  on screen.

  Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
